Description
Greeting guests: Welcome guests with a friendly and sincere demeanor
Check-in and check-out: Assign rooms, issue keys, and collect payment information
Providing information: Offer information about hotel services, amenities, and nearby attractions
Making reservations: Take reservations for restaurants, tours, transportation, and other activities
Resolving issues: Respond to guest concerns and complaints in a professional and positive manner
Coordinating services: Work with housekeeping, porters, and kitchen staff to meet guest needs
Managing cash: Operate the cash drawer and credit card system
Communicating: Use proper telephone and reservation etiquette, and communicate shift information to the next shift
Guest service officers need to be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and have excellent communication and customer service skills. They should also be able to multitask, work flexible hours, and maintain confidentiality.
Training programs for guest service officers can take a week to three months, depending on the establishment
