Description: As a Dermatology Physician Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive dermatological care to patients. Your responsibilities will include diagnosing and treating a wide range of skin conditions, performing minor surgical procedures, and collaborating closely with a team of dermatologists to deliver high-quality patient care.

Dermatology Assistant Duties:

Patient Evaluation: Conduct thorough patient assessments to diagnose various dermatological conditions, including but not limited to acne, psoriasis, eczema, skin cancer, and dermatitis.
Treatment Planning: Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs, which may include prescribing medications, recommending skincare regimens, or performing procedures like biopsies, excisions, and laser therapy.

Requirements: All states require dermatologist assistants to become licensed before they can work with patients. Prospective dermatologist assistants must pass the Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam (PANCE) from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Those who pass can use the designation Physician Assistant-Certified and can apply for their state license. Certification requires 100 hours of continuing education every two years and a recertification exam every 10 years.
