Description
Responsibilities
Manage General Ledger by checking journal entries, reconcile financial statements and accounts, and ensure data accuracy
Responsible for all activities of the accounting and VAT, such as accounts payable, payment, accounts receivable, collections, financial statement closing and payroll
Preparation of annual budgeting process, monthly forecasting estimates and in variance analysis
Preparing monthly and annual accounts
Document financial transactions by entering account information
Handle VAT reporting (payables and receivables). Ensure collections and payments are done in line with UAE regulations
Keep accurate and up to date financial record; receipts, invoices, final statements etc.
Prepare financial reports when required
Coordinating portfolio valuation inspections, time frames and information with the regional offices, ensuring all information is collected as required.
Amending, formatting, proofreading, and collating a PDF draft and final report to ensure they are in line with our corporate standard with particular attention to consistency.
Maintaining an accurate filing system and accounting records
Maintain detailed and comprehensive financial control documentation
Requirements
Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Accounting Supervisor, chief or senior accountant
Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Awareness of business trends
Familiarity with financial accounting statements
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like FreshBooks and QuickBooks
Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
Accuracy and attention to detail
Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant
Relevant certification (e.g. CMA or CPA) will be preferred
