- JOB PURPOSE :
• Provides guidelines and directions to all assets on potential areas on sedimentology, diagnosis, mapping, petrophysical properties, link between geology and petrophysics, rock-typing, log typing.
• Defines and updates workflows, methodologies and procedures in alignment with industry best practices.
• Provides technical support, advisory and training to Company staff
• Acts as technical authority in domain of Carbonate Reservoir Geology.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Represents technical authority for Carbonate Reservoir Geology in Company.
• Defines standards for sedimentology, diagnosis and petrophysics across Company Asset Teams (SOPs).
• Supports assets in determining opportunities to develop studies to assist with reservoir characterisation and surface-subsurface integration.
• Identifies challenges across all assets and implements new technologies and workflows.
• Captures lessons learned / best practices and ensures their communication and consistency across assets.
• Participates directly and in directly in technical staff development (training, coaching, career development)

• Understands and promotes the company’s health,safety & environmental policy and objectives; performs work in accordance with the company’s established rules, regulations and approved procedures;intervenes to stop unsafe acts and practices; and is concerned for the well being and safety of own self and others, including all contracted labor force.
• Plan and conduct meetings / workshops with assets to ensure they receive the necessary technical support and advice on Petrophysics(Formation evaluation from logs) initiatives.
• Integrates all geological and geophysical data to define reservoirs configurations, lateral and vertical changes in stratigraphic sequence, lithofacies, depositional environments and Petrophysical properties,Integrates geological and reservoir data and establishes rock typing schemes and reservoir characterization models for each reservoir.
- Requirements
- Geologist Requirements:
Degree in Geology or Geoscience (essential).
3 years of experience in mining, environmental assessments, land development and/or land remediation.
Adaptable to work in various environmental conditions outdoors.
Excellent knowledge of geology and geological factors of the specified location.
Great technical ability to design mappings of geological data, and use geological databases and software.
Superb communication skills to work with management and staff alike.
Practical experience in collecting and analyzing geological information such as water, soil and rock data.
Comply strictly with safety codes, standards and procedures.
Ability to write accurate reports on data collection and analysis.
Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and research skills.
Intuitive leader who displays accuracy and attention to detail.
Abide by all federal, state and local laws related to geological work.
