The Clinical Pathologist will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting laboratory test results to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. They will work part-time, collaborating with other medical professionals to ensure accurate and timely reporting of test results. The Clinical Pathologist must have a strong background in pathology, be detail-oriented, and have excellent analytical skills.
Responsibilities
• Perform microscopic examination of tissue samples for diagnostic purposes.
• Interpret laboratory test results, including blood tests, urine tests, and biopsies.
• Collaborate with other pathologists and medical professionals to reach accurate diagnoses.
• Provide consultation to referring physicians and clinicians regarding test results.
• Ensure proper documentation of test results and maintain accurate records.
• Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements and research in the field of pathology.
• Train and supervise medical laboratory technicians and assistants.
- Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, physical sciences, or a related field.
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
4 to 7 years’ internship and residency training, specializing in pathology.
Successful completion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) or the Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Examination of the United States (COMLEX-USA).
