- Description
- A Laboratory Specialist performs routine laboratory tests and analyses, often under the supervision of a senior technician, to support medical or scientific research. Their responsibilities include preparing samples, operating laboratory equipment, recording results, and ensuring safety procedures are followed. They may also be involved in maintaining equipment, calibrating instruments, and managing laboratory resources.
- Requirements
- A minimum of a BSc in medical diagnostics, medical technology or an equivalent with a specialist in medical microbiology;
6 Years of experience in medical microbiology in a human clinical laboratory in developing countries with at least two years’ experience in a laboratory quality management role
Knowledge and experience in the laboratory diagnosis of infectious diseases including specific hands-on laboratory experience.
