Description: Take medical histories, explain procedures, and shield areas of the body that don need to be imaged
Position patients and equipment
Position the patient on the examining table and adjust the equipment to get the best view of the body part being imaged
Operate imaging equipment
Use computerized equipment to take images, and adjust exposure time and distance
Evaluate images
Review images to determine if they are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes
Maintain equipment
Ensure the proper functioning and sterilization of imaging equipment
Collaborate with physicians
Work with physicians to evaluate images and determine if additional images are needed
Maintain patient records
Keep detailed patient records
Use radiation safety measures
Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure the safety of patients and staff

Requirements: Radiology Technician Requirements:
An associates or bachelors degree in radiography or radiologic technology.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
The ability to operate and understand radiographic technology and equipment.
The physical stamina to stand for long periods and operate heavy machinery without assistance.
The flexibility to work shifts, weekends, nights, and holidays.
