What Is a Laboratory Analyst? Laboratory analysts, also known as chemical technicians, work in scientific laboratories, where they assist researchers in conducting experiments, analyzing results and preparing reports. They are also responsible for equipment installation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
Requirements
Aboratory analysts are typically required to have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Some employers prefer to hire candidates who have a bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry or another closely related field.

Training & Experience: Laboratory analysts typically receive on-the-job training from their supervisors or other laboratory staff. This training helps analysts learn the specific processes and procedures for their laboratory. Training may include learning how to use laboratory equipment, how to perform tests and how to record and analyze results.
