Description: An Internal Medicine Doctor, also called an internist, is a medical professional specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of diseases affecting adults across the spectrum of health, including chronic conditions like diabetes, heart disease, and hypertension, primarily utilizing non-surgical methods, while also providing preventative care and managing complex medical situations across various organ systems within the body; they focus on comprehensive patient care, often serving as a primary care physician for adults, analyzing patient history, conducting physical examinations.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in biology, physical sciences, or a related field.
Doctor of medicine (MD) degree or a doctor of osteopathic medicine (DO) degree.
3 to 7 years’ internship and clinical residency training, specializing in internal medicine.
Successful completion of the Internal Medicine Certification Examination.
