- Maintain, inspect, test and repair all systems on diesel locomotives. Electrical modifications/upgrades to locomotive systems. Diagnostic trouble shooting with onboard computer systems/laptops. Complete work in accordance with blueprints, schematic drawings and service manuals.

- Diesel electricians/mechanics are responsible for the inspection, repair, and maintenance of the electrical and mechanical components on diesel electric locomotives.
