- Warns swimmers of improper activities or danger and enforces pool regulations and water safety policies. Administers first aid in the event of injury rescues swimmers in distress or danger of drowning, and administers CPR and/or artificial respiration, if necessary.
- Requirements
- Ability to inspire confidence and calm in the face of a crisis.
Ability to enforce swimming pool rules in a considerate but firm manner.
Good eyesight.
Excellent powers of concentration; lifeguards must remain alert.
Ability to react quickly and efficiently in a life threatening situation.
