Description
Inventory management
Overseeing the kitchens inventory to ensure its stocked to meet customer demand
Hiring and training
Conducting interviews, hiring new staff, and ensuring a smooth onboarding and training process
Customer service
Maintaining a welcoming atmosphere, handling customer complaints, and ensuring guests have a positive dining experience
Health and safety compliance
Conducting regular health and safety inspections, and training staff on proper food handling, sanitation practices, and emergency procedures
Overseeing daily operations
Creating and maintaining staff schedules, and overseeing the operations of both front and back of house teams
Financial management
Developing and managing budgets for various expenses, including labor, food costs, and supplies
Other responsibilities of a restaurant manager include:
Maintaining a positive restaurant culture
Ensuring proper compliance with restaurant hygiene regulations
Interacting with diners and building positive rapport
Requirements
A high school qualification or equivalent.
Experience working in the restaurant industry.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Bookkeeping knowledge.
Ability to professionally address customer complaints.
