- Patient Interaction:
Explain the blood-drawing process to patients, reassure anxious individuals, and ensure a positive experience.
Blood Collection:
Safely and efficiently collect blood samples through venipuncture, finger pricks, or heel pricks using appropriate equipment.
Specimen Handling:
Properly label blood samples with patient information and prepare them for transport to the lab for analysis or other purposes.
Safety and Sterilization:
Adhere to strict safety protocols to prevent infection and contamination. Maintain a sterile work environment and clean equipment.
Record Keeping:
Accurately record patient information and other relevant data in medical records or computer systems.
Equipment Management:
Properly maintain and handle medical equipment used for blood draws.
