- Nursing assistants help patients with activities of daily living like eating and bathing. Nursing assistants, sometimes called nursing aides, provide basic care and help patients with activities of daily living. Orderlies transport patients and clean treatment areas.
- Requirements
- High school degree or GED certificate
Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant education program
Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate and BLS certification
At least 6 months of experience in a long-term care facility or hospital preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology and basic medical equipment
Basic computer and record-keeping skills
Physical and mental stamina; ability to work long hours on ones feet and lift 25+ pounds
