Description: Transcribe recordings: Listen to audio recordings of medical professionals and transcribe them into written reports
Edit and proofread: Review and edit transcriptions for accuracy, completeness, and consistency
Translate medical jargon: Use medical abbreviations and jargon correctly
Identify errors: Look for inconsistencies, errors, and missing information
Submit reports: Submit reports to physicians and other healthcare providers for review and approval
Enter reports into EHR: Enter medical reports into electronic health records systems
Follow confidentiality guidelines: Comply with HIPAA confidentiality standards
Meet deadlines: Manage workload efficiently to meet deadlines and productivity targets
Skills and qualifications
Proficiency with medical jargon and abbreviations
Ability to type quickly
Good organizational skills
Attention to detail
Self-motivation
Knowledge of medical specialties

Requirements: Post-secondary training in medical transcription.
Certification as a healthcare documentation specialist would be advantageous.
2-3 years of experience as a medical transcriptionist, or similar.
Proficiency in Electronic Health Record systems, such as AdvancedMD and Kareo Clinical EHR.
Ability to transcribe accurately and maintain a minimum typing speed of 65 words per minute.
