- An ENT Assistant, also known as an Ear, Nose, and Throat Medical Assistant, is a healthcare professional who provides direct patient care support to an otolaryngologist (ENT doctor) by performing administrative tasks, preparing patients for exams, assisting with procedures, and maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment within an ENT practice; their duties may include taking vital signs, collecting patient history, preparing exam rooms, assisting with minor procedures, and ensuring proper documentation of patient information.

- The minimum qualifications for an ENT physician assistant include a master’s degree in a physician assistant program. After graduation, you have to obtain your physician assistant license. All US states require licensure for you to practice. The National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants is the organization that administers the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination. To maintain your physician’s assistant license, you must do 100 hours of continuing education every two years. Once you complete your degree and obtain your license, you can choose to pursue additional education to specialize as an ENT. Strong communication skills are also essential.
