Description: Examine patients: Use tools like x-rays to diagnose dental conditions
Treat patients: Perform procedures like fillings, crowns, implants, and extractions
Educate patients: Teach patients about oral health, flossing, and fluoride
Prescribe medication: Write prescriptions for antibiotics or other medications
Monitor patients: Track patient progress to identify changes in dental disease
Refer patients: Send patients to dental specialists for recommended procedures
Manage staff: Recruit, train, and supervise dental hygienists, assistants, and other staff
Maintain records: Keep records of patients dental health

Requirements: Doctorate of dental surgery or dental medicine.
State license and malpractice insurance.
Additional experience, certifications, or licensing may be required.
Strong computer skills and experience with healthcare databases and applications.
Willingness to comply with all local, state, and federal laws regarding dental and health care.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to keep detailed records.
