Description: Designing, conducting and evaluating experiments and field trials
Using genetic manipulation techniques to alter genes in organisms to improve their characteristics and behaviors
Developing new pharmaceutical products, vaccines, medicines and compounds such as antiseptics
Working in a sterile environment to prevent contamination
Writing research proposals and applying for funding
Presenting findings to scientific peers and senior colleagues
Writing detailed reports and documentation
Ensuring that quality standards are met in research
Monitoring, assessing and responding to regulatory legislation and guidelines
Collaborating with other scientists and professionals in the field

Requirements: Bachelors degree in a related field such as biotechnology, microbiology, or biochemistry
3+ years of experience in biotechnology research and development preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of biology, chemistry, and engineering processes
Strong problem-solving skills
Able to work independently and as part of a team
