Heavy Bus Driver

Description: Driving: Operate a heavy-duty bus on established routes, following schedules and traffic laws
Passenger assistance: Help passengers board and exit the bus, and assist those with disabilities or special needs
Safety: Ensure the safety of passengers and the bus, and manage passenger behavior
Maintenance: Perform routine vehicle inspections, and report any mechanical issues
Customer service: Provide exceptional customer service, and answer passenger questions
Record keeping: Maintain accurate records of trips, and record cash receipts and ticket fares
Communication: Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other staff
Training: Participate in ongoing training and development programs
Other duties: Fuel the vehicle, monitor the heating, lighting, and A/C systems, and load and unload baggage

Requirements: Proven experience as a Driver
A valid driver’s license
A clean driving record
Minimum visual acuity of 20/50 (or corrected to 20/50)
Familiarity with GPS devices
Knowledge of area roads and neighborhoods
Ability to lift heavy packages and luggage
Availability to occasionally take weekend and night shifts
A polite and professional disposition
Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g. at rush hour)
A high school diploma
