- Management Accountant Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, management accounting, business finance, or related financial field; Master’s degree in management accounting preferred
Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification required
5 years’ previous experience as management accountant, CPA, or related accounting experience
Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel); experience with accounting software
Exceptional knowledge of analyzing risks, preparing forecasts, cost accounting, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Excellent written communication skills
Advanced knowledge of financial and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations
Accurate and precise attention to detail
Analytical and goal-oriented thinker
Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
Comfortable and capable of advising and presenting to senior management
